Plans for Drupal 7

We're big believers in Drupal, the open source content management system. It's fast, well supported by a dedicated community, stable, secure, and SEO-friendly. Sometime in 2010, we're going to make the move to version 7. Of course, we plan to start by upgrading MPLSMarketing.com to Drupal 7 and testing it out for several weeks before we begin moving clients and new projects, but a few things are clear.

First, the migration to Drupal 7 should be much faster than the move from version 5 to 6. Why? A number of contributing companies and individuals are committing to having their modules ready the day Drupal 7 is released. That means we won't have to wait for the community to catch up, a major source of delay a year ago.

Second, Drupal 7 will be even easier to use for end-clients, particularly with its more integrated HTML editor, and better for social networking, thanks to its built-in support for fields (formerly CCK).

We're excited about Drupal 7 and can't wait to start using it to build great new projects.
