iPad Traffic on the Rise
I took a look at our web analytics this morning and noticed that in the last couple months, the iPad came to life in the data. In fact it accounted 80% of all mobile traffic (with iPhone accounting for 19.5% and Android 0.5%).
It's also interesting to note that iPad users spent considerably more time on our site than the average user — more than 50% more. (And June was a good month for MPLS — traffic overall rose 55% year over year). Indeed the iPad, just three months on the market, has overtaken all Android web traffic.
What does this mean for you? It's time to make sure your website is iPhone and iPad-optimized, particularly if you run a blog, have Flash content, or rely on customers contacting you directly through your website. People are enjoying websites on iPads (and soon other Android-based tablets too) — and it's important your website sings in their hands.
